Estate Planning

Estate Planning is simply determining (while you’re still alive) where your assets should go and who should handle your affairs, after you die, or if you become disabled.  Without a properly structured estate plan, your wishes may not be fulfilled, and your loved ones could be hurt both emotionally and financially.

Preemptive planning in a perfect world is an ideal scenario. All plans have a legal, financial and sometimes a health care component.  From a legal perspective, the proper legal documents need to be constructed.  The documents used are commonly Wills; Trusts; Powers of Attorney; and Health Care Proxies.  You might say, “I already have a Will, I am all set”.  In most instances a Will is not enough!   There are other areas of exposure that must be addressed.  For instance, Probate is an expense that through proper planning can easily be avoided.

Every family has different needs and dynamics and a proper estate plan can be customized to suit your individual family’s needs.  We will work to ensure that we take full advantage of existing laws and put a workable strategy into place.

For those veterans who qualify, there are even programs that veterans are entitled to.  No matter what the situation is, our goal is to always do it in the most efficient and cost effective manner possible.

If you remember only one thing, “estate planning is not one-size-fits-all”.  Our commitment to you is to see that all areas of exposure are addressed and your wishes will be carried out.
